Snorkeling with whale sharks

You will be picked up directly from the hotel in the morning by your guide (who speaks German or English, depending on your preference) and will make your way to Cancun in small groups, where a light breakfast awaits you on the beach.

With comfortable, high-horsepower motorboats you will set off on the approximately 1-2 hour journey out to the open sea, to the Marine National Park, to the area where the whale sharks gather to feed. Along the way, in addition to the right snorkeling equipment, you will also receive all the important information: from the exact sequence of the activity, to explanations of the behavior of animals and people in the water, to tips and tricks for the perfect souvenir photo/video.

Experience has shown that when you arrive in the “whale shark area” you will see the animals quite quickly. Often there are dozens of animals at once, elegantly swimming along the surface of the water and filtering the plankton that floats up out of the water.

Everyone gets up to two chances to be in the water with you. In groups of two, accompanied by a certified guide, you will jump into the water with a whale shark at the command of the captain, who has previously put the boat in a good position, and experience something indescribable that you will definitely never forget!

Snorkeling is tiring. That's why we then continue to Playa Norte/Isla Mujeres where you can relax a bit with snacks and drinks in the shallow water of the dream beach before heading back to Cancun and from there to your hotel. The duration of this tour depends on how quickly the whale sharks are spotted in the area.

Please note:

There is no guarantee that you will be able to go into the water with the animals. If the weather conditions do not allow it or the waves are too high, this is not possible or too dangerous. But we guarantee that you will see the whale sharks.

For guests staying in hostels, holiday apartments or other accommodation, a conveniently located meeting point will be arranged. When booking a tour, please specify where exactly you will be staying. All you need to do is send a short message with the most important information (name, reservation number, day of the excursion) to info@cocotoursmexiko.de and we will refund you the full amount to your payment method as quickly as possible.
